Nice To Meet You
I'm Kelsey,
My health journey began over 15 years ago, marked by debilitating heavy periods, painful periods, PMS, chronic anxiety, daily panic attacks, brain fog, digestive issues, migraines, and joint pain. I faced a constant struggle, receiving only band-aid solutions or being told that "everything is normal" or "we'll just keep an eye on it." By the age of 16, I had already been on antidepressants for six years and on birth control for two, with no plan of action to come off. As a young person lacking information, I didn’t fully grasp the long-term implications of these treatments, yet I felt a deep sense of unease. Each visit to the doctor, armed with a new symptom, left me feeling increasingly disempowered and unheard.
After years of this relentless cycle, I grew frustrated and resolved to break free. I soon realized I wasn't alone—many women around me were suffering immensely and receiving the same limited options and dismissive feedback.
Desperate for a solution, I sought out a naturopathic doctor who finally made me feel heard and validated. For the first time in years, I discovered that there were reasons behind my struggles and options beyond the conventional medical system that I could explore.
This was my lightbulb moment. I realized I could explore much deeper than this initial approach; I wanted to fully understand why these issues were occurring and how to address the root causes, rather than just applying a band-aid solution. While the naturopath I found was remarkable in addressing many of my concerns, her response to my period issues was disheartening: "You shouldn’t be on hormonal birth control for more than 10 years, but since you had really bad periods beforehand, there’s not much we can do."
This prompted me to dive headfirst into my education. I enrolled in a Natural Nutrition Diploma program, pursued a personal training certification, and, most importantly, joined a Women's Hormone Health program that has quickly became my passion.
Over the past three years, I’ve successfully broken free from most of my symptoms, discontinued my antidepressants, and stopped taking the birth control pill. Today, I’m 90% symptom-free, and when symptoms do arise, I have the knowledge to support my body and manage them effectively.
While I’m grateful for my journey that empowered me to take control of my health, get educated and now help other women, there’s one thing I would have changed: having a practitioner in my corner who could have guided me to recovery faster. Although holistic health is not a sprint, my journey took longer than necessary. I truly wish I had someone to support me, as it could have made all the difference in my healing process.
If this resonates with you, I would love to help.
